Passion vs US Soccer: They Just Don't Get It!

Soccer is about passion. The USA is not a "Soccer Country" like, say, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, England, Mexico or Germany. If you think that the US have passion for the game then how do you explain this scenario: the US women's national team is in the FIFA Women's World Cup final on July 17th, 2011 in Germany. However, the game is shown live only on the ESPN channel. It means that if you live in the US (East Coast) and you don't have cable TV you are not seeing the game live.
In a true soccer country, a game of this magnitude will be televised live on all tv stations: local as well national. The airwaves will be swamped. Businesses will be shut for the day. Soccer fever would take over. Bars will be filled. It will be like a carnival.
No, no, no. Not in the US. The soccer fever is not there. No matter how much money and resources are pumped into US soccer, the passion is not there.
Passion cannot be taught. It lives in your blood. It is woven into the very fabric of society. You can feel it. Breathe it. It's like you can almost touch it. This is what US soccer is lacking.
Therefore the Women's World Cup final came and went and it barely even scratched the surface (of US streets). You didn't feel the energy or the buzz. Too bad.
For this reason, soccer in the US will always be a third- or fourth-rate (even fifth-rate) sport. Even if the US were to win a major tournament, e.g FIFA Men's World Cup (maybe in another 100 years lol!!) the passion will last maybe but for a couple of days. In fact Americans are more passionate about eating pop-corn at the movies than about the game of soccer.
Enough said. It is what it is. The MLS is the most boring soccer league in the world. It doesn't matter how young it is. The US been competing in soccer internationally more than 60 years. A professional local league should have been launched eons ago. They sure have the financial resources, the stadiums and the fan base. What they don't have is passion.
Without passion they will never be true ambassadors of the game. They will never be a giant soccer nation or a soccer super power.
Truthfully, I loved what Mexico did to them in 2011 Gold Cup Final. A-come-from-behind 4-2 thumping. The definining moment was when Dos Santos had the US goal keeper tieing his lace on the ground while he was trying to get the ball off his feet. To add insult to injury, Dos Santos had the entire US defence on a string, dancing to his Mexican jig. When he had enough fun toying with them, he calmly and expertly chipped the ball into the roof of the US net. Get up Tim Howard! Game's over.
Passion wins again.

So I was Wrong About Kobe/Lakers & LeBron /Heat

During the 2010/11 NBA season I gave Lakers and Heat fans reassurance that everything will be ok when the playoffs were all said and done. Boy was I wrong. My apology to Lakers and Heat fans. I can't knock on Kobe; a proven 5-time NBA champion. He went down as a true warrior: fighting. To Kobe I tip my hat. Nuff respect to the max. It turned out that the Mavericks were the better team after all. Tyson Chandler was the defensive difference maker that tranformed them from "soft" to "tough". Dirk's was, as he turned out was just too much to handle. Pau Gasol had "issues" but no "answers" (to Dirk). Lamar was being Lamar as usual; old faithful came up short, resulting in Lakers being swept. For such a storied (and title-rich)franchise, you know the Lakers will bounce back.
The Miami Heat though is a different story. It is difinitely Dwayne wade's team. LeBron, you are officially no longer the man in Miami. You are a media star but not a superstar. LeBron (and I say this unequivocally), you are not a big game player. I have rooted for, stood up for and defended you over the years. Now I am convinced that you are the biggest disappointment professional team sport has seen in the modern era. How could you not play hard in an NBA final? This is preposterous. How can you look your team mates in the eyes (especially Dwayne Wade)and feel comfortatable knowing that you did not play as hard as you could? LeBron was so ridiculous that he couldn't even exploit a mismatch when Jason Kidd was guarding him. All LeBron did was pass, pass, pass. That's what role players do. Superstars take over (and win) games under pressure. LeBron clearly indicated during the finals against the Dallas Mavericks that he is not the superstar player we thought he is. He is clearly over-rated. Skip Bayless of ESPN First Take is smilingly right. He can say with authority that "I told you so". LeBron James is nothing but an over-rated media hype. If Miami Heat were to win a championship with the so-called "Big-three", it will add to Dwane Wade's legacy. To say the least even Chris Bosh showed up for the NBA finals. I wonder if it's the "Curse of Cleveland"? Who knows.

Renew Your Mind..Everyday!

On any given day you intake and process information from various sources. Some of these sources are negative while some are positive. My advice to you is to retain the positive influences and get rid of the negative. This however is easier said than done.
I am sure you have experienced negative emotions and you feel mentally tired, stressed out or depressed. What do you do then?
There are several ways in which this can be counter-acted. Before proceeding though, you must know and understand how your system deals with stress. Everyone experiences stress in their everyday life. Stress can come from different sources. It can come from pressures on the job or from at home. For example, you may experience stress on the job if you become strapped for time in meeting important deadlines.
You may experience stress at home if your income is not enough to pay your bills and you and your spouse argue about it frequently. Obviously there are too many stressful scenarios to mention all at once.
To counter stress, you must identify its source(s). In some cases, you can reduce stress by learning how to manage your time more effectively and efficiently. To do so, you must first learn to identify your priorities. Your priorities must be listed by what's most important in your life to what's least important.
The listing of priorities does not mean that your stress wil go away. In fact, for some people, their top priority in life may be to spend considerable time (and money)on something that may be directly harmful to them and others close to them like family and friends. Those type of priorities I call bad priorities. Bad priorities will no doubt increase stress in your life. Some bad priorities can be sometimes unlawful and illegal to society.
To successfully manage and reduce stress you must identify the good priorities in your life. They are the ones that are not directly harmful to you and others. Spending more time (and money) on good priorities can greatly reduce stress in your life. Good priorities are also always lawful and legal to society.
People who manage their stress well are those who know what their (good) priorities are and tend to them very well. The opposite is true that people who do not manage their stress very well are those who spend too much time on bad priorities. Do you know your priorities? Are they good or bad?
Think of how stressful your life can be when you choose bad priorities and you are exposed to more negative influences from tertiary sources. How then do you keep your mind positive? How do you cope with stress?
Your body also has its defence mechanism to deal with stress. You can reduce your stress by doing something you enjoy doing. To be effective though the pleasure activity you choose should not be harmful to your body.
The presence of a group of hormones in your body called endorphins causes you to feel pleasure. When you increase the amount of endorphins in the blood stream you increase your pleasure. The release of endorphins into your blood stream is controlled by your brain. Therefore when you engage in activities that you enjoy doing, your brain signals for the release of more endorphins.
Feeling of pleasure is the opposite to feeling of stress. Endorphins are known as the anti-stress hormone.
You can therefore reduce stress when you engage in activities that you enjoy doing. Make sure these activities are positive though. People may have diffferent activities they like. Physical activities duing sports for instance are known to cause the flow of endorphins. Simple jogging and walking can cause it. Singing and listening to music are other positive influences. Having a good sense of humor (and laughter)can reduce stress too.
Obviously, there are many other pleasure producing activities that can reduce stress. What are yours? You can write them down and do them more often.
You should be reminded though that your pleasure activities must not interfere or conflict with your good priorities. Of course there are some people whose careers, like professional athletes for instance, involve lots of physical activity.
When your career is also your main passion in life and you are excellent at and highly paid for it, then you can truly experience a low stress and healthy life. What is your passion? Is it also your career? Do you make a lot of money doing it? Are you happy?
Stress can also be added to your life by being exposed to or attacked by negative people. Surround yourself with positive people and do not react or respond to negativity.
Positive thinking can also reduce stress. Can you think of anything else that can reduce stress in your life?
Whether you are aware of it or not, every one experiences stress each day. Too much stress can harm your health, peace of mind and happiness. Stress can and will adversely affect your state of mind. In some cases it can make you sick or even kill.
The key to fighting stress is to manage it by identyfying your priorities as described above, by engaging in pleasurable activities that are also not harmful to your neighbors, thinking positive, lots of humor and laughter and by associating with positive people.
To be successful and happy, every person must make a conscious decision to apply the above principles to their every day lives.
Following this system each day can renew your mind. Each individual is responsible for renewing his/her own mind.
Renewing of your mind is a conscious process whereby you identify sources of stress (and negativity) and you get them out of your system daily. Do not dwell on them for too long. You do not focus on negatives. You do not internalize negatives. You avoid negative people as much as possible.
You must focus on your priorities each day. Do some of the things you enjoy doing, also on a daily basis or as often as possible; even it's just for a few minutes.
Find reasons to laugh and smile a lot. Lighten up. Don't be too uptight. Avoid getting angry frequently. Always keep a cool head. Avoid negative confrontations and arguments. Take a deep breathe when confronted with negativity. Count to ten or twenty, which ever, before responding to negative remarks or situations. Walk away graciously as much as possible. Do not habor hateful or evil thoughts.
Strive to be happy every day. You can be happy by making someone else happy. However, if you are not happy, you cannot make someone else happy.
I urge you therefore, be happy by renewing your mind every day.
When all else fails, just pray; like I do.

Lakers Fans: Relax

Lakers are a playoff team. The Mavericks shot out the gates. Pop! Injuries. Boston shot out the gates. Pop! Injuries. The team you have to watch is the Spurs. They are winning while Tim Duncan is on cruise control at 30 minutes a game. That's a dangerous team. Miami's dangerous also. They're gelling with a young superstar core; plus they are playing terrific defense.
The Lakers destiny this season lie with Andrew Bynum. If he is at 90-100% then the Lakers will 3-peat; 80-90% maybe; less than 80% they would not 3-peat. They limped their way to the title last year but it ain't happening this year.
The five title favorites in the NBA this season are the Lakers, Spurs, Mavericks, Celtics and Heat. The most healthy team will win the NBA. No questions asked.
The Lakers strategy in the meantime is to allow Andrew Bynum to get his stride while the rest of the team reserve some fuel in their tank for later on in the season and the playoffs.
The Lakers will not play championship intensity basketball mid-way into the season. They will win enough games to maintain a top four seeding in the West. They will not run the risk of picking up an injury to one of their big three for instance (Kobe, Pau or Odom). Therefore this will explain their lack of intensity against (and losses to) running and gunning younger teams such as the Grizzlies, Heat and Bucks.
Add the Zen Master into the mix, with a healthy Andrew Bynum and all will be well in LaLa Land.

NBA Stars & Retired Stars: Start Your Own League

The NBA really got my attention when they began issuing technicals for passion and emotion reactions. How could you illegalize those two factors? They are an integral part of what make us human. Sports is played by human beings, not robots. The NBA is charging $2000-$5000 per technical (up to 16). Someone will have to tell me that the money collected for those frivolous technicals go toward charity or toward some scholarship fund. If that's not the case, then this is extortion.
The players work hard for their money and its not fair that league officials can take it away based on their whims and fancies. It makes me wonder if the commissioner ever played ball, or any sport for that matter. Huh? I've never heard of anyhting so ridiculous. Take soccer for instance; a player might get booked by the referee and his team mates may zealously approach the refree in his/her defence. They don't get booked themselves for doing so. The player may react strongly to a call and walk away and that's the end of that. Look at all the hockey fights. I don't condone violence but basketball needs passion and emotion. Athletes need it. In fact, they thrive on it. Why is the commissioner softening basketball?
I am a strong advocate of the free market system. The NBA has gotten fat around the waist; yet the league is always complaining each year that they are not making enough money. The NBA has no competition. Competition is the American way. The NBA has a monopoly over US professional basketball. Monopoly robs the consumer (and players) of their sovreignity and stiffles competition. They become like cogs in the wheel.
Here is what I suggest: Players and other wealthy basketball enthusiasts should form their own league. The new league can be named Freedom Basketball League (FreeBaL). Oprah Winfrey started her OWN broadcasting network. You go girl! This is the American way. Own something.
I am not impressed with retired professional athletes getting fat and lazy and settling for mediocre announcer/analyst jobs. Boring.
The format could be as follows:
1. Form a corporation with a solid corporate structure.
2. Pool your financial resources together and form your own bank. It can be named FreedomBank. It is very important to control your own financing. In so doing you control your destiny.
3. Retired (once a star always a star) stars, current stars, mega fans, private enterprise and coaches should get involved here.
Special shoutout to retired stars: Charles Barkley, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Magic Johnson, Patrick Ewing, Charles Oakley, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Kenny Smith, Chris Webber, Kevin McHale, James Worthy, Greg Anthony, Steve Smith, Steve Kerr, Bill Russell, Isaiah Thomas, Dennis Rodman, Reggie Miller, Dennis Scott, Karl Malone, John Stockton and many more.
Special shout out to current stars: Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, ShaQuille O'Neal, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Tim Duncan, Jason Kidd, Lamar Odom, Grant Hill, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Carlos Boozer, Dwight Howard, Deron Williams and company.
Shoutout also to mega fans Spike Lee, Jack Nicholson, Jay-Z and Beyonce, Sylvester Stallone, etc.
Shoutout to coaches Phil Jackson, Greg Popovich, Byron Scott, Avery Johnson, Larry Brown, Pat Riley, Coach K and others.
Shoutout to all WNBA greats. Diana Taurasi, Candace Parker, Lisa Leslie, Cynthia Cooper, Sheryl Swoopes, Cheryl Miller, Tina Charles and soon to be Maya Moore, to name but a few.
Big businesses, you are welcome to chip in also. Donald Trump, Bill Gates, Nike and all the other big boys.
In this great country, we have talent and resources. Competition makes everyone better and it benefits the consumer; so what are we waiting for?
Referees, so long as you remember that fans come to see players and not referees then we gonna get along just fine. You won't be given job security but instead job technology to get calls right. You will be terminated for too many (amount to be determined)technological replays due to bad calls. The fans will be calling for technological replays. Beware. Get it right. Feel the ire that players and fans feel when you goof up.
4. Issue shares to all the above mentioned (except referees). Make them owners of FreeBaL and FreedomBank.
5. Select players and make teams. FreedomBank and FreeBaL will allow individuals or groups of shareholders to purchase these teams.
6. Unlike the NBA, players will be selected on the basis of talent and character , not on the basis of high school or college intellect. Special love to street ballers and ex-convicts (except murderers, rapists, pedofiles and armed robbers). This can probably be an incentive not to commit crimes. More players should be allowed to play and make some money. This is about equal and fair opportunity and society giving someone a second chance to redeem his/herself.
I don't think there should be salary caps. Cities should not be punished for being big and players should have a say from day one who they want to play for. In addition onganizations that spend a lot of money and are well run should not be restricted to silly salary caps. Trade deadlines are ok though but let's not make a big deal about it.
7. There should be several divisions, e.g Premier, First, Second, Third and Junior (10-14 yrs old). Everyone should get paid. A little is a feast.
8. Initially, playing facilities could be rented.
9. Every arena will have strong security. Public safety is a primary concern.
10. The legal age should be at least 15 years. If your parents are poor then there's nothing wrong in earning your keeps early. You must finish high school at least. You can go part-time. You must obey the laws of the land. Like lawn tennis, you can come in earlier (if you're good enough to be on a team).
11. Choose a real Commissioner. Sir Charles(Barkley) is my pick for first FreeBaL Commissioner. Magic you will be the first President of FreedomBank. Mr.Greg Anthony you will be FreeBaL's spokesman. Michael you will be Deputy Commissioner/Owner.
12. Oprah's network, OWN, can be the host network of course.
Let's get this going guys. Give basketball a shot in the arm. Open up the doors wider for more young people. The NBA is a very tough league to get into. It is not fair that its players are being "legally" robbed of their money. Robbery is robbery. The NBA should rescind this rule and return the stolen money to the players on which those frivolous technicals have been called to date. America is a great and fair country. You are innocent until proven guilty. The punishment shouldn't outweigh the crime.
Passion and emotion belong in sports.

Thinking Outside The Box: The Human Brain Is The Substitute For Petroleum

Sometimes I wish I was living ahead of my time. Why? New York City had one snow storm in December 2010 and vehicles were stuck in the snow. Our modes of transportation are still primitive. Planes were grounded and flights cancelled.
How long has snow been around? How long has gravity been around? We think we're all that but our technology is inferior. I am not impressed. Fancy we have to walk because our transportation system was crippled bacause of a simple snow storm. Don't get me wrong, I respect nature but this is not good enough. Primitve man did the same thing. They walked and they shovelled snow. For this reason I reckon that we are still primitive.
I don't care if you drive a BMW or a Benz. Our technology should put us above shovelling snow. How long has man been shovelling snow?
I don't care if we have space ships, computers and ipods either, our technology is still backward. We haven't even mastered our own human body. We don't have cures for cancer, AIDS, alzheimer's, brain tumors, autism and a host of other diseases. In fact we shouldn't even be worrying about contracting those diseases. We should develop humans that are resistant to any kind of disease.
This sounds like utopia, huh? Nonsense. How long ago did people believe that the earth was flat? During those times man's mind (and thinking) was in a box. There was a time when the church was the main authority setting boundaries (by reason of divine authority) on how society viewed phenomena. Science then had to play second fiddle and dared not challenge the church's stranglehold on human beliefs. Science had to challenge and break the shakles of the church then, so I am challenging science now. Fair enough.
There is a saying that "what the mind can conceive, it can achieve". Here is what I believe. All of humanity's capacity to solve problems are contained in our brain. In order to get scientific breakthroughs in leaps and bounds, we need to unlock the full potential of the human brain. The brain is the key. Unlock the brain and its secrets and (ka-boom!) we will unlock the powers and mysteries of the universe.
If you think this is unrealistic, there are still areas of the brain that we are clueless about. In fact, the average human being uses up a mere one-fifth of their brain power. What happens to the remaining eighty percent? Stop tripping, we are wasting our (brain) capacity. We know for a fact that the brain controls every other function of our body and mind. Think of what our minds can conceive and achieve when we unlock all of our brain power. Endless.
Science is wasting time running around like chicken without heads trying to figure out this and figure out that. Whether it is life in other galaxies, which even if they do exist (which I know do) we cannot find and when we do, we cannot visit. Our current modes of transportation cannot even make a dent into the universe; so why bother. At the current rate, its ain't happening anytime soon either. Incompetent. I wanted to see stuff like that in my lifetime. This is boring science.
Wake up science. Think outside the box. If you're not finding answers by looking outside of our bodies, into outer space and heaven knows where else, did it even occur to you that you should search elsewhere? The human brain; that's where you will find all the answers you are looking for. Look inwards, not outwards.
In order to do so we should study the brain more. I mean really unlock it. Our brains (capacities) are locked up. There has to be a way to tap into our brain capacity at will. The answers lie herein. In those tiny brain cells, those millions of synapses and highly specialized cells lay our answers; waiting to be discovered.
Once we unlock the brain, we can also map out how every thing in the human body works. We can then manipulate and harness it to do whatever we want. This includes everything about our existence: genetics, birth, physical characteristics, mental powers, immunity to diseases, intelligence, technology and heaven knows what else.
The point I am making is that as long as we keep relying on just pure chance to produce "intelligent" scientists, then nature as we know it will not produce scientists that are bright enough to figure out how to discover, conquer and surpass every conceivable realm.
Think about how much power is in the atom that is so small that it is invisible to the naked eye. Man was able to unlock the atom and harness its tremendous power. This changed the order of world events in no uncertain terms. When we unlock the secrets and power of  our brain and really have it down pack (wow!) just think of what we will be able to achieve. I guarantee you that it will change the course of humanity profoundly more than atomic energy did; more than quantum physics or Einstein's theory of relativity. You bet.
The new brain will generate new humans. New humans will generate new minds. New minds will generate new technologies. Boundaries as we know them will be toppled. We can now use our brain to control genetic behavior during conception. We can determine the sex of our children. We can determine their intelligence. We can develop immunity to diseases. You are probably thinking, can we cheat death? Who knows? What do you think?
We can consciously travel into other realms and galaxies through outerbody experiences. We can communicate effectively with other life forms there. We can build super modes of intergalactic transportation that do not use fossil fuels. Using fossil fuels, I find, are so laughable. Our society's technology is fuelled by dead organic matter lying beneath the earth. We ought to be doing better than that. Not only is its usage harming our environment but its going to finish sometime. Then what?
We rely on aeroplanes, automobiles and ships to get around. These are so primitive. In fact any mode of transportation that can be grounded by natures fury I deem as primitive. I am even less impressed that they are all fossiled fuels.
We try using nuclear energy as an alternative; we try solar energy; we try ethanol but nothing seems to work. Oil-rich giants make excuses about the disadventages of using alternate energy sources. I am tired of hearing them.
Think outside of the box. It's not the alternatives that are not feasible. It's our brains (that are being under- utilised). In fact science should be spending more time and resources developing the ultra-superior human being as a matter of extreme urgency and priotity. What are you waiting for?
I am convinced that there are superior "fuels" and technologies out there that can propel us to leaps and bounds in modes of transportation. We can revolutionize local as well as space travel. Don't you hate parking tickets? Automobiles are so primitive. They break down. They are slow. They cause congestion and pollution. They do not adapt to the elements very well. This is what bothers me: why do we have to tolerate congestion (in our cities especially) when the universe has no limit? The fact is we have lots of space out there. All we have to do is figure out a way is to master more (or all?) of our universe. Then we wouldn't have to worry about being couped up all the time; limited by our primitve modes of transportation and restricted by the forces of nature.
In fact, the earth should just be our home and no more. It shouldn't be our only home though. There are lots of resources in the rest of the universe. We can develop technologies that can harness this abundant extraterrestrial resources. In so doing we wouldn't have to worry about killing the earth through consumption, depletion and pollution. Fancy how long it took for fossil fuels to form for instance. However, we consume it now and in an instant it's gone. Never to be replaced.
Transportation is such an integral part of what we do that I am almost obsessed with it. In fact, the universe, as we know it, never stops moving. Therefore our focus and innovation should be on discovering and developing new and improved modes of transportation, way beyond what we now have. I am not talking about mere cars, aeroplanes and boats either.
Once we remove our current limitations on transportation, then we can up the stakes by discovering other habitable galaxies and actually live there. For instance, we can build super fast aircrafts, faster than the speed of light. Einstein believed, for instance, that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light; that light will be transformed into matter as it approaches greater speeds. I do not believe that. My thinking is that there are forces and dimensions out there that we haven't even dreamed of. If the universe is infinite, then who is to say what lies in the beyond. With all due respect to Einstein, even he didn't know. I ask you, what is infinity?
There are technologies (secrets of the brain and universe)therefore that exist that when discovered, will blow our minds. It will really render our current technologies as primitive. These technolgies I will name as inter-galactic super-normal technologies. These technologies would enable us to travel throughout the universe. We would build vessels made of newly discovered matter for time (inter-galactic) travel. We would go past the sun; into other galaxies and beyond.
I believe also that there are some galaxies with phenomena superior to light. Such galaxies contain super elements that will make those listed in the periodic table look insignificant. They contain metals more precious than gold and diamonds. Every law of nature as we know it will be challenged and even defied. There will be new laws governing these new galaxies. They are so numerous, we cannot even count based on our current technology. The new technologies would though.
I am sure that you are curious to find out what fuel will be used to propel this universal super-travel craft. The human brain of course empowerment by brain fuel. Believe it or not. It's going to happen.
I believe that the locked up power of the human brain is equivalent to the forces that govern the universe. It is is the same principle that governs the power of the atom. When we unlocked the atom, we unlocked one of the greatest forces known to man. The same is true of the human brain. The forces of the universe are locked into our brain. If we are to conquer the universe, we must discover and harness this brain power first.
The greatest power in the universe therefore can be found right inside the human brain. It is much greater than the power found in the atom. If the atom is so small yet so powerful, then how much bigger is the human brain than the atom? How many atoms are in the human brain? All we have to do now is figure out a way to master it, make it perfect, then put to use.
It will be a clean form of energy. No pollution. Having mastered the powers of the brain and consequently, the universe, then man will now effectively have removed all natural and technological barriers as we know it. We can do anything that our mind can conceive of.
Imagine travelling through the galaxies, in your own inter-galactic super-vessel, faster than the speed of light, powered by the brain and directed by your mind. You can go as fast as and as far as your mind tells you to.
I can hardly wait for this to happen. No more frustrating traffic jams. No more traffic tickets. Don't you hate getting pulled over by the cops? Wouldn't it be nice to live free of society's annoying rules and limitations that can be so stiffling at times? No more aeroplanes and waiting in long lines. In fact earth travel will be like a "cake walk", sometimes even boring.
You may think that all of this sounds far-fetched. It's not. In fact we are already been tapping into brain power to visit other realms. We do it in our dreams. What really are dreams? Some dreams can actually foretell actual events to come. Sometimes we revisit our past in dreams. Other times we communicate with dead relatives. Dreams are endless. We all have them.
When we go to sleep, the "sleeper cells" in our brains wake up. Ah! This is key right here. We need to examine those sleeper cells closer. They are the ones that empower our dreams. When we fall asleep though, we cannot control them. They come out to play and explore other realms. This happens unconsciously.
My belief is that we can consciously tap into and unlock the power contained in those sleeper brain cells. In them we will find, not only powers greater than atomic energy, but the keys to unraveling the mysteries of the universe. By mastering them we will also master the universe.
Have you ever wondered how everything moves to order and precision within the solar sytem? The planets, while they turn, simaltaneously orbit around the sun in an eleptical circle. The solar system in turn orbits around another galaxy more powerful than itself. Awesome! Just how many galaxies are there in the unerverse, we don't have a clue.
What interests me though is that mysterious force that keeps everything in perpetual motion in such an orderly fashion. We may expound theories supported by abstract mathematics and the phenomenon of magnetism but I believe that there is some underlying explanation that is being overlooked.
It may not happen in our time. The earth is already couped up as it is. Humanity is still fighting over territory, land and resources. With the removal of boundaries, there would be no need for that. Now that we can travel through and inhabit the universe, there will be space for everyone. There would be no need to squabble over territory anymore. Besides, I am really sick of all this fighting in the world. I don't believe in violence. Time to find some real solutions. The earth has become too small.
With our renewed limitless super-brain, we would enhance every other aspect of our life. Innovations and improvements would be made in genetics, health, fitness, sports, food production and quality and every other conceivable aspect of our existence.
Imagine applying this new power to sports. It means humanity can produce as much Michael Jordans, LeBron James', Peles, Muhammed Alis and Usain Bolts as it wants. Science can produce as many Einsteins as it wants and so on and so forth. Competition will enter new realms.
We would also master the forces controlling the universe. We would not have to rely on telescopes which I consider as silly peeping-tom toys. What can telescopes do? All you can do with them is look. They cannot control or master anything. Our mastery of the universe will enable us to see the big picture. We can now see the entire univesre through mental picturing, as we do in dreams. However, we would no longer be dreaming. We can now do this consciously. We no longer will be limited to telescopic (or tunnel) vision. Through brain power, we would now be able to rearrange the heavenly bodies as we see fit; to do our bidding. Such will be power of the new technology available to man.
My advice to the scientific community is this: stop chasing your shadows. Revisit the human brain. Spend a little (or more likely lots) more time studying it. The answers are there. I guarantee it.
Finally, don't be deceived though, God will allow us the privilege of unlocking our brain power to acquire the technologies that will enable us to remove universal barriers and attain mastery of it but he will always hold the keys to creation and eternity. Simply put, we won't be able to create something out of nothing and we would still die. The universe is so big, there will always be the risk of running into some unknown that can kill us.
Either way, we have our work cut out for us. I am ready to tour the universe, faster than the speed of light. Are you? Don't be scared, come along for the ride.
What, do you believe?

Mind Games: The Art of Loving Thy Enemy

What are mind games? A mind game is when someone deliberately uses his/her mind to indirectly influence or manipulate other peoples thought processes, reaction or behavior while you keep them unaware of what you are thinking while trying to determine what they are thinking. The main components of mind games are your mind, words, silence, observation, proximity to target person(s), listening skills and motive(s).
Why do people play mind games? Don't be naive. Our worst enemy is our own fellow human beings. The actions of man are the single greatest killer of human geings outside of natural causes e.g warfare, murder and genocide. Human beings are the only specie that kills its own for reasons other than for food.
Wild animals in their natural environment will kill namely for two reasons: for food and to eliminate the competition. Wild animals though don't go hunting the competition. In fact, when there's abundant food, wild animals will tend to avoid each other; they instinctively work out a truce of sort. They will also compete and fight for the right to mate. However, the outcomes of most of those fights are determined by the stronger animal prevailing over the weaker. The objective is to win females and the rights to mate. Usually the vanquished is chased away with or without injuries and more often than not, with its life intact. The point is, animals don't play mind games.
Human beings on the other hand are intelligent, loving, productive, generous and creative beings. Huh! If this statement is totally true then why do we have so many prisons? And so much crime? Okay, so here's the reality. Human beings are also devious, disobedient, greedy, vengeful, hateful, dishonest, disloyal, conniving, cantankerous, belligerant, power hungry, jealous and envious, covetous, violent and murderous (to name just a few of our flaws). Such is human nature.
We come in contact with other human beings every day at: home, work, social events, sporting events, church, public transportation, stores, shops, hospitals, schools, libraries, etc. Human beings are social animals. We therefore may (or may not interact) with others on any given day. We interact with family members, friends, relatives, co-workers, acquaintances, team mates, public officials and other members of the public.
Here is where things get interesting. Some human beings you may come in contact with may take a dislike (obvious or not so obvious) to you for disclosed or undisclosed reasons. If someone (anyone) that you are interacting with, you perceive, chooses to dislike (envy?) you for undisclosed reasons(s), then the seeds are sewn for mind games. Welcome to the club.
Let's examine this phenomenon a little closer. In life, you make natural enemies the same way you make natural friends: by interaction. Your enemy may constantly gnaw at you. They may try, through negative criticisms, to attack your: self-esteem, self-confidence, lifestyle, work, talent(s), support system, ideas, beliefs, just about anything. Their approach can be either subtle or brazen or some combination thereof. The enemy you must interact with on your job or at home for instance, don't just go away in the morning when you awake. They are determined to get (at) you. They may have several (ulterior) motives. It may be jealousy and envy. You may have something they want. You may in the way of them getting a promotion. Reasons and motives may vary depending on circumstances. To become a good mind game player there are some attributes you must have along with a desire to apply them for your benefit and protection.
First of all, you must love and respect yourself and others. Unfortunately, in order to remain true to yourself and your values, it means you may have to love your enemy too. Hatred is destructive and destruction breeds destruction.
How do you love your enemy? For those of you who don't believe you have enemies then I decree that you're being unrealistic and naive. Okay, where was I? Let me clarify that you do not love your enemy the same way you love your family and friends.
You can love your enemy by wishing them good. Get to know your enemy well. Discretely find out everything you can about them. See if there's any good in them. Find out about their strengths, their weaknesses, their support system. Do not let them get to you. Don't allow them to get you angry. Do not let them fill you up with negative and violent thoughts. Do not let them fill you up with hatred. Do not give them too much of your quality time. When you are in their presence, do more of the listening and do not let your emotions betray you. Do not wish them harm because people usually reap what they sew. Don't get into arguments with your enemy. Do not confirm or deny their interjections or accusations. Let them believe what they want to believe and think what they want to think.
Keep the friends of your enemy close. Find out what you can about them from their friends, without appearing too interested. Do not divulge how much you know to their friends in case they are trying to trap you. Smile even when they try to upset you. Whenever possible, avoid them. Choose your words carefully. Keep your enemy guessing. Just when they think that they know you, do the opposite to what they expect. Never let them see you down. Cover your tracks well. Don't discuss them with too many people. Don't give them ammunition to use against you.
Do not let your enemy know too much about your support system. They may try to undermine you. Keep them away from your inner circle. Steer them away from getting too close to the people who matters most to you. Be subtle. Don't give them any hints that you are engaged in mind games against them.
Secondly, your enemies are real people, in real situations. The stakes can become very high. You can play mind games aginst anyone. It can be your boss for instance, or your spouse, or another family member, or team mate. It is always precarious when it is someone close to you and with whom you may interact with often.
Thirdly, before playing a mind game, make sure you examine yourself thoroughly. Ensure that you are renewing your mind everyday with positive thoughts and energy. Set aside clear objectives why you are playing mind games to begin with. Do not make your enemy "larger than life". Focus on the things in life that you hold sacred. Don't use up too much mental energy on enemy mind games. Don't be consumed by it.
The main objective of mind games must be to neutralize your enemy by peaceful means. If over time your enemy cannot get through to you, then eventually, they may burn out their negative energy and give up. Keep your friends close but keep your enemy closer. The enemy you don't know is more of a threat to the one you know. Do not live in isolation because no man is an island. Once you master these principles, you will have your enemy coming to you. They may not be converted to allies but you may find out what they are thinking. It that way, you can minimize the chances of being caught off your guard. You can be a step ahead of them thereby ensuring your survival.
However, don't let your guards down. There are some people who will go to extreme means to make your life miserable and to cause your demise. They are not to be taken lightly. It might be a co-worker competing for the boss's affection, trying to climb the corporate ladder. In such a situation, you must strive to become proficient not only at your job itself but also at how to play corporate politics. You must understand how corporate relationships work and make the right allies. Working smart means "knowing" the right people too and using them to get ahead. They are the ones that can make you better at what you do.
Your worst enemy can be someone you live with. It can be your fiance, wife, husband, brother, sister, room mate, whom ever. Hey, you just never know. Before jumping to conclusions, make sure and study each situation carefully. In as much as you do not want to be wrong about someone, it is also inadvisable to make the common error of being in denial that someone close to you can be your enemy.
Love everyone but trust no one. Trust has to earned. You don't give it away freely. There is a saying,"..trust is like the soul, once it leaves (it's broken), it never returns". When someone close to you betrays you, it's never the same afterwards. You forgive but you don't forget.
Learn to forgive an enemy who hurts you. It begins healing. Do not rejoice in the demise of your enemy; just learn from it and move on. Be the bigger person. Do not render evil for evil. This will cause you to self-destruct.
Let's put all of this into perspective. You can play as much mind games as you want in a civilized and law abiding environment. However, the rules of engagement can be drastically different in a war torn country for instance. Where social chaos exists also, mind games be not be sufficient to ensure your survival or well being. In those circumstances, mind games (by itself) are not recommended where your personal safety and that of your loved ones can be compromised. Don't make yourself an easy target. Be realistic.
There are situations in life where war is inevitable. Mental wars can be fought through mind games, in civilized, stable and developed societies. In some societies however, there are enemies that will kill you because there is inadequate policing. Remember a cold war was fought (and won) between two nuclear super-foes without a nuclear "punch" being thrown. Do not underestimate the power of mind games. What kind of society do you live in?
Therefore know your environment and study your enemy well before you play mind games. Decide what you want your legacy to be. What kind of human being do you want to be? Do you want to make the earth a better place for all people? Discover your purpose in life. Strive to be a good, if not an outstanding, human being. Remember the examples set by Mahatma Ghandi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Their legacies were based on equality for all men, based on peaceful (non-violent) protest. Their legacies live on today.
Do not expend too much mental energy in mind games. Be wise. Be aware of your enemies but do not be consumed by them. Use your mind productively and positively. Lighten up. Life is short. Live it to the fullest, be the best you can be and enjoy it.
Finally, love is the most powerful emotion in the universe. Fill yourself with it and in the end you will triumph over your enemies and life's trials and tribulations. Let love of fellowman be an integral part of your legacy. After all ,behavior breeds behavior.
